2008-2012 Cadillac CTS Keyless Remote Tutorial

Press Lock to Lock all doors.  Press Unlock once to unlock the driver’s door.  Press Unlock twice to unlock all doors.  Press the trunk button to pop the trunk.  Press and hold panic to sound the alarm in the case of a mugging/carjacking/emergency or to locate the vehicle in a parking lot.

To remote start the vehicle press lock then press and hold the remote start button.  To turn off the engine press and release the remote start button.  Not every vehicle is equipped with remote start.  When the vehicle is remote started it will use your climate control settings.  You’ll want to set them to cool the vehicle during the summer and to heat the vehicle during the winter.  See your owner’s manual for instructions to program climate control defaults.

Some vehicles are equipped with Keyless Access.  This is a Prox or Smart key system.  This allows you to lock an unlock the doors and start the vehicle without taking the remote out of your pocket.   Watch the video for more specifics about when the door will unlock from the outside when remotes are still in the vehicle.  It’s pretty awesome how they designed it.

Is there a good, illustrated, step by step instruction on opening the remote start for battery replacement on a 2010 CTS? Owner's manual doesn't offer much and I'm afraid of breaking the case. Thanks.

Remote start will not work when I use it in the morning. I can go out and manually start it, then shut it off and go back in the house. Then it will work from the house. Just started having this problem. Any ideas? Thx

If it is a nissan or honda where a 2nd starter wire is needed maybe it wasn't hooked up. Or maybe if it is an older car then a tune up would help if it doesn't crank enough on it's own. What's the year and model of car? What is the brand and model name of the remote start system? What state do you live in (to determine climate?)
